About African Ways

A multidisciplinary panafrican engineering firm based in Tunis, African Ways has been shaping infrastructure projects across the continent since 2016.

Management

From the management

There are, at heart, two visions of the engineer's work. One devotes its energy to producing a compliant deliverable on time. The other — ours — seeks to transform every mission into a lasting contribution for the territories and communities it serves.

Driven by this second vision, we founded Africa Ingénierie in 2016, to meet the growing need for high-level technical expertise, fully grounded in African realities. In 2022, we took a new step by becoming African Ways: a resolutely panafrican project, carried by multicultural teams, serving infrastructure to international standards adapted to local geographies, climates and needs.

African Ways today embodies the conviction that African progress is built from within, by women and men of the continent, with the technical rigor and ethics that the great challenges of the 21st century deserve.

Our firm

Overview

AFRICAN WAYS has existed since 2016 under its original name Africa Ingénierie. Founded by engineers and experts with extensive experience in consulting and engineering, the firm has established itself as a reference player in infrastructure, building, hydraulics and environment projects across several African countries.

Firmly rooted in the African continent, we now operate in 12 countries: Tunisia, Libya, Chad, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo, Côte d'Ivoire, Niger, Madagascar, Senegal, Guinea-Bissau. Our teams combine senior engineers, technical profiles and support functions to offer clients — ministries, lenders, industrial groups — a single, rigorous and responsive point of contact.

Our vision

Vision: for a better Africa

Our corporate project can be summed up in one sentence: "A better future for a better Africa." Three pillars structure this ambition: building lasting partnerships, developing African human capital, and promoting responsible and sovereign engineering.

Lasting partnerships

We build long-term relationships with public and private project owners, lenders, and local stakeholders in each country of operation. Trust is measured by the number of renewed projects.

Developing human capital

Because African infrastructure must be designed and operated by African talent, we invest heavily in training, mentoring young engineers, and transmitting know-how.

Responsible & sovereign engineering

Our studies integrate from the outset the environmental, social and climate constraints specific to each territory. We refuse the import of standards unsuited to local needs in favour of solutions designed for Africa.

Our values

What guides every mission

Creativity & technological performance

Our teams combine mastery of cutting-edge tools (BIM, GIS, digital modelling) with engineering creativity to deliver tailor-made solutions, technically and economically optimised.

Strong commitment

Every mission is led by a senior project manager who personally commits to deadlines, deliverable quality and client relations, from the first workshop to the final reception of works.

Confidentiality

Our clients entrust us with strategic data: alignments, costs, financial analyses, audit reports. We guarantee strict confidentiality, backed by internal procedures and secure tools.

Broad domain of competence

Roads, buildings, hydraulics, environment, economics, energy: our range covers all major infrastructure sectors, enabling us to approach multi-sector projects without external subcontracting.

Our teams

Versatility and diversity

African Ways' strength lies in the diversity of its profiles and the cross-functionality of its teams. We combine the expertise of road engineers, hydraulics specialists, building engineers, environmental engineers, economists and managers to approach each project holistically.

This versatility allows us to lead integrated missions — from feasibility study to construction supervision — without any break in the value chain, and to circulate best practices across sectors.

Environmental commitment & CSR

African Ways integrates each of its missions within a demanding environmental framework. Impact studies, environmental and social management plans, low-carbon sizing, climate resilience: the environmental dimension is integrated from the upstream phase of projects, not handled as an afterthought.

Our CSR approach extends to our relationship with local subcontractors, the ongoing training of our teams and gender parity, which we measure and publish annually.

Technology

Technology & digitalisation

African Ways has developed an in-house ERP covering project management, hours, deliverables and invoicing. Combined with the systematic use of BIM, GIS and digital modelling tools, this platform enables complete mission traceability and seamless collaboration between teams, subcontractors and clients, regardless of geography.
